Wellington College clamps down on cancel culture

Wellington College in Berkshire has introduced a new position dubbed the “chair of compassion”, intended to cultivate an environment where students can “disagree agreeably” and better resist negative influences, particularly from figures like Andrew Tate. This initiative aims to counteract the rise of cancel culture by equipping pupils with tools to engage respectfully in disagreement rather than retreating into punitive social dynamics.
