Course outline

This webinar, SEND for Non-SEND Specialists, is designed to empower school staff with the knowledge and confidence to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), even if they do not have a specialist background. Delegates will gain a deeper understanding of inclusive practices, legal frameworks, and effective classroom strategies to ensure every pupil can thrive. For those who line-manage SENCO and SEND provision, the session will provide the background needed as well as ways to support SENCOs effectively.

Speaker: Gaelle Sullivan, Director of Research, Inclusion and IELA

Gaelle is an experienced senior leader and has worked in a range of state and independent schools. She is a qualified SENCO and completed a Masters Degree in Inclusive Education. Currently, Gaelle is Deputy Head Pastoral, DSL and Head of Boarding at an all girls independent school in the South East. She is passionate about Research and Inclusion in all its forms and is looking forward to joining the BSA team in January 2023.
