Course outline:

Supporting Neurodivergent Individuals: Creating Inclusive and Flexible Environments

Neurodivergent individuals may process information, communicate, and behave in ways that differ from the neurotypical majority. While awareness of neurodivergence has increased, many neurodivergent people still do not feel fully supported to thrive in educational or workplace settings.

This practical seminar goes beyond defining neurodivergence to focus on actionable strategies for identifying and meeting individual needs. Delegates will explore how to make effective adjustments in areas such as environment, communication, technology, and support systems—creating settings where neurodivergent individuals can succeed, feel valued, and belong.

Training Topics Include:

  • Creating flexible environments that accommodate diverse needs
  • Understanding and identifying individual differences and strengths
  • Practical steps to set neurodivergent individuals up for success
  • Key adjustments across environment, communication, and interventions
  • Embedding an ongoing, inclusive conversation about neurodiversity in your setting

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Gain a clearer understanding of how to identify and respond to individual needs
  • Learn about a range of tools, supports, and adjustments to empower neurodivergent individuals
  • Understand how to design flexible, inclusive environments that promote equity and wellbeing
  • Be equipped to keep the conversation around neurodiversity active, evolving, and person-centred
