Course outline:
This interactive seminar explores a range of SpLDs, including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia, and how they can impact day-to-day functioning. It will focus on recognising diverse profiles, understanding both strengths and barriers, and adopting practical, inclusive approaches that support progress and confidence. The session will help delegates move beyond a one-size-fits-all approach, offering strategies to better meet individual needs and create more accessible environments.

- Understand the key characteristics of common specific learning difficulties and how they may present in pupils
- Recognise how SpLDs can impact learning, organisation, and classroom engagement

Speaker:
Gaelle Sullivan, Director of Research, Inclusion and IELA
Gaelle is Director of Research, Inclusion and IELA and joined the BSA in January 2023. She is an experienced senior leader and has worked in a range of state and independent schools. She is a qualified SENCO and holds a Masters Degree in Inclusive Education. Prior to joining the BSA, Gaelle was Deputy Head Pastoral, DSL and Head of Boarding at an all-girls independent school in the South-East.
