10:00 – 10:50 Artificial Intelligence and Bias
This session will explore bias in AI and its implications for inclusion and equity in education. We will cover its potential effects in their own contexts, and explore practical strategies for using AI tools responsibly and inclusively. The session also highlights the importance of developing students’ critical understanding of AI, ensuring that technology supports rather than undermines inclusive learning environments.

10:55 – 11:45 Confident conversations about LGBTQ+
This session is designed to support inclusion educators in building the knowledge, language, and confidence needed to engage in respectful and meaningful discussions around LGBTQ+ identities. It will approach common questions and challenges, offering practical strategies for responding with clarity and sensitivity.

11:50 – 12:40 Inclusion 360 roundtable
This will be a collaboration opportunity to discuss the current inclusion hot topics as well as sharing experiences, challenges, and effective practices. We will reflect reflecting on what works, what needs to change, and how to drive whole-school change.

14:00 – 14:50 Anti-racism education: A data driven approach to mitigating bias
Led by Hemisphere Education, this session will examine how to identify and address disparities within their settings. It will delve into how attainment, behaviour, and participation can reveal patterns of bias, and how this insight can inform targeted, meaningful action.

Speakers:
Gaelle Sullivan, Director of Research, Inclusion and IELA
Gaelle is Director of Research, Inclusion and IELA and joined the BSA in January 2023. She is an experienced senior leader and has worked in a range of state and independent schools. She is a qualified SENCO and holds and Masters in Inclusive Education. Prior to joining the BSA, Gaelle was Deputy Head Pastoral, DSL and Head of Boarding at an all-girls independent school in the South-East. She is a trustee at a leading independent boarding school.
Adam Webster Director of Digital Transformation, Caterham School Co-founder, Sphinx AI
Adam is an experienced senior education leader who is also running an EdTech startup, developing AI-powered platforms to enhance both teacher and pupil experiences of school. Sphinx AI is building software to meaningfully understand how and when to support pupils, using cutting-edge AI, blended with the critical human interventions and observations of teachers.
He has significant experience developing the effective use of technology in schools, including curriculum design, staff and pupil training, as well as developing the relationship between traditional science based-subjects and the creative arts.
Adam also has experience in safeguarding and in particular utilising and responding to the use of technology in helping young people and parents deal with a range of pastoral concerns.
Adam is a regular writer and speaker on the use of technology in schools and has delivered a TEDx talk on the importance of disruption and change in the education system to meet the changing demands of the future workplace.

Henry founded People Change Minds in 2017 to promote better mental health and wellbeing amongst LGBTQ+ young people by empowering everyone around them to create truly inclusive environments, based on his experience at school and in the workplace. He’s worked with 30 schools in and around Greater London, reaching over 10,000 students, and has work with businesses including Google, Amazon and Visa. He believes that inclusion is everyone’s responsibility and it’s often the little things that make a big difference.

Mutisunge is the first ever full-time equity, diversity and inclusion lead at Christ’s Hospital School. Mutisunge Edwards is now working closely with staff in all departments, as well as with pupils, to help ensure that all aspects of the school’s work are viewed through the EDI lens. Her background is predominantly in Early Years education. Throughout her career, she has tried to implement change and integrate inclusion from a young age.

Yasmina is Deputy Lead of Hemisphere Education, a multi-award-winning brain-training platform improving racial literacy in schools. She’s spearheading Hemisphere’s adoption across the UK, building partnerships with leading schools, education partnerships and multi academy trusts. Prior to Hemisphere, Yasmina held senior roles at one of London’s top 10 start-ups, Beam, and Magic Circle law firm Clifford Chance. Her work has seen her feature in the BBC and The Lawyer, and she has been invited to speak in Parliament. Yasmina also holds several advisory roles, supporting companies and charities with commercialisation, growth and operations strategies. She combines strategic acumen with a commitment to social justice, and is passionate about the education sector’s role in creating a more inclusive society.
